objectives:
- To promote educational opportunities to the parish
relating to social justice concerns;
To participate in
Archdiocesan-
sponsored training events that educate participants on
Catholic Social teaching;
To increase
parish awareness of ongoing legislative and/or global
issues that impact matters of Justice and Peace;
To evaluate our
ministries and to find opportunities to expand our

Committee Vision Statement
Through the sacrament of baptism, we are joined to
Jesus Christ in His mission to the Kingdom here on earth. By virtue of
this sacrament, we are committed to live out our faith through works of
charity and service to the people of God, caring for the poor, the weak
and the suffering.
The Social Justice Committee of St. Jane Frances de
Chantal lives out this commitment through an active ministry of prayer
and service and an ongoing education program for the parish, to
participate in this important work. We are the eyes that see what is
wrong and make systemic changes in society to correct them. We are the
hands and feet that go about making the necessary changes so that every
human being lives in dignity.
We are the voice of challenge to the adults and young
people in the parish to support this work with their prayers their
resources, their time and their talents to do as Jesus demands: to feed
the hungry, clothe the poor and visit the sick and imprisoned.

Saint Jane Frances Parish ministers to the sick, the handicapped, the
dying as well as those recovering from a major illness through the Pastoral
Visitors. Lay Eucharistic ministers pay sick calls to the homes,
residences, sick rooms or hospital rooms of those ill or in distress, distribute the
Holy Eucharist and pray with and for those who are afflicted or in
need of God's intervention for physical or mental healing.
This special ministry is always in need of volunteers who can spare
precious time to assist those who are ill and in need of God's
healing graces.
